The Puzzle of 2048

2048 icon2048New and popular, 2048, yes that’s the name of the puzzle, is one of the enjoyable games to pick up and play whenever you have time off from work or some spare time to kill off.

This game 2048 was created by 19-year-old Italian web developer Gabriele Cirulli in a single weekend according to Wikipedia. The gameplay is simple and easy—swipe up, down, left or right to match the tiles on the board. When same numbered tiles match, they merge into ones with the numbers added up.

You will see that joining two tiles of number 2 becomes a tile of number 4; joining two tiles of number 4 becomes a tile of number 8; and so on. If you are able to continue to do so until you get the tile of number 2048, you are a winner.

Whenever two tiles are merged, an empty spot is saved so that you have more space to move around on the board, but on every movement, a new tile of number 2 (or 4 in some versions of the game) is added to an empty spot of the board randomly.

This game is challenging and highly addictive. Quite often you will find that before you are able to reach the number 2048, the game is over when the board is filled up and you can't join any two tiles of same numbers.

To learn how to play this game takes you a minute, but to win the game you may have to spend hours unless you've mastered the basic skill of solving this fabulous puzzle of 2048. And here it is: keep the tile of the biggest number in a corner and avoid moving it around to increase your chance of winning.

You can play this game online or get the ads supported mobile versions created by Gabriele Cirulli from here. Currently the ads free versions are getting popular too but they are developed by others, worth a spin nevertheless and listed below.
