Freeware Games of the Week (TF2, Closure)

Oct 15-Oct 21

This week we're featuring another 2 freeware games that will impress both casual and hardcore gamers alike. First among them, is one of the most popular and highly rated freeware games of all time committed to pure action and entertainment. surprise Secondly we have an innovative platforming puzzler that tells a complete 'story without a language' in almost 100 levels. If you are itching to play a game having a fresh new gameplay then this one's for you ( hope you have a good IQ). wink

Team Fortress 2

The company that produced smash hit games like Counter Strike, Half Life 2, Left4Dead and Portal has a freeware game now to its credit, none other than Team Fortress 2. TF2 is a free-to-play (since June 11) team-based first-person shooter multiplayer video game developed by Valve Corporation.
One of the most popular online (LAN/System Link play & X-Box Live play available) action games of all time and one that has garnered the most highly rated free game of all time, Team Fortress 2 has received critical acclaim and several awards, being praised for its graphical style, balanced gameplay, comedic value and for its use of full character personalities in a dedicated multiplayer game.
Gameplay: Like CounterStrike (but TF2 is a lot better for depth of gameplay and fun) there are 2 opposing teams, BLUE and RED. In the team based gameplay out of the 9 unique player classes, you choose one of these characters. Each of them has its own unique strengths and weaknesses. These classes categorized into Offense ( Scout, Soldier, Pyro), Defense ( Demoman, Heavy, Engineer) and Support ( Medic, Sniper, Spy) and each class has at least 3 primary weapons (Primary, Secondary, Melee). There are different modes to play the game (Capture the flag, Control Point, Territorial Control, Payload, Arena, King of the Hill, Payload Race, Medieval) and 49 official maps offering great variety of playstyles, fun and pure entertainment. Fight and raise your team to glory.
TF2 is one of those games where Co-operation is savory, Betrayal is sour, Defeat is bitter and Victory is even more sweeter. The game is updated frequently with new flavors of maps and modes. Don't wait to sink your teeth and enjoy this delicious treat laugh

This is just one-of-a kind amazing platform puzzler that is unique and not much like anything you've ever played. The game at first look seems like another commercial game, Limbo, with the graphic styles resembling a film negative (ya whatever), like you are in a state of coma and the world around you is so dark and fleeting it makes you feel like you're in a dream state populated by memories. (Reminds you of Inception eh?).
Gameplay: Your world is dark, yeah nothingness! The character can only interact and move on surfaces and objects that are illuminated with orbs of light which you carry. As soon as the light fades away from the surface or objects the place turns dark,  effectively meaning that as you walk through them now you are gonna die. Something like psychological loops in dream state. Here you have to create your path with light and make incremental movements to the door to escape. Now what this means is your mental world in the state of coma/dream or whatever, exists as long as you're able to cast your attention on it. So as long as you're not looking at it, it doesn't exist. I haven't personally finished all levels but I guess as you finish you're gonna feel like you have woken up from a dream.
The game has won awards for audio effects, yeah the gripping and oppressive atmosphere is just amazing and also for design and technical excellence. Worth a treat angel
Awards: Won Best Audio experience, Design Innovation & Technical Excellence finalist.

Happy Gaming! See you next week. Adieu smiley

It looks like Closure is no longer free. I tried it out when it was and it was a great game. You can now get it on Steam.
